It’s customary to bring gifts to kings, but what could we possibly give to our King...the King Who owns a thousand cattle on a thousand hills?

Everything we have already came from Him.

Recently, I was listening to a beautiful worship song and some of the lyrics indicated that all we have to give to Him is our praise. As I was singing along, the Holy Spirit whispered to me, “You have so much more for Me, beloved. I gave you a life.”

"And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice-the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him."

-Romans 12:1 NLT

The only thing He desires from us, the only thing that we can give to Him in return is our surrender. He wants our poured-out liquid-life sacrifice. It sounds like a big ask because it is. To forsake all and follow Him-that’s uncomfortable, but it’s the only way to enter into the deepest chambers of this King’s heart. This beautifully raggedy flag hangs in our home. While it may not be the most aesthetically pleasing, it will forever be one of our most cherished items.

In military surrender, they wave a white flag. One night as we were worshipping, the Lord asked us to truly surrender all. We thought we already had, but as we truly and intentionally began to live a life of waving our flag of surrender, the Lord met with us in the most incredible ways. He enrolled us in what can only be called, “The Holy Spirit School of Surrender.”

Surrender means to actively yield yourself to the power of another, to give up the possession of something, and to lay down.

Many of the prayers we prayed were asking God for more of Himself, but we realized that instead He was looking for more of US.

He has given us the fullness of Himself in every way! Realizing this has shifted us in such a new direction-He is totally and completely available, He’s given us every good gift! He withholds nothing from us.

"All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ."

"For the Lord God is our sun adn our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right."

As we have walked this surrendered journey, the Lord has burdened our hearts to share His desire for more of us with you, His Bride. Surrender can feel scary- you have to relinquish control, your preferences, and your own will to give it all to Him, but, oh beloved, it’s so worth it.

PROMPT:

Ask yourself these questions and journal:

Have I truly waved the white flag of surrender to the Lord in my life?

What areas am I refusing to yield to Him?

What would my life look like if I truly lived surrendered to God?

What is the Lord asking me to give up so I can give Him more of myself?

ACTIVATION:

Pray and give it all to Jesus.
