Now when the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven by a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were on their way from Gilgal. And Elijah said to Elisha, "Please stay here, for the Lord has sent me as far as Bethel."
But Elisha said, "As the Lord lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you."
So they went down to Bethel. And the sons of the prophets who were in Bethel came out to Elisha and said to him, "Do you know that today the Lord will take away your master from over you?" And he said, "Yes, I know it; keep quiet."
Elijah said to him, "Elisha, please stay here, for the Lord has sent me to Jericho."
But he said, "As the Lord lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you." So they came to Jericho. The sons of the prophets who were at Jericho drew near to Elisha and said to him, "Do you know that today the Lord will take away your master from over you?" And he answered, "Yes, I know it; keep quiet."
Then Elijah said to him, 'Please stay here, for the Lord has sent me to the Jordan." But he said, "As the Lord lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you." So the two of them went on. Fifty men of the sons of the prophets also went and stood at some distance from them, as they both were standing by the Jordan. Then Elijah took his cloak and rolled it up and struck the water, and the water was parted to the one side and to the other, till the two of them could go over on dry ground.
When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, "Ask what I shall do for you, before I am taken from you." And Elisha said, "Please let there be a double portion of your spirit on me."
And he said, "You have asked a hard thing; yet, if you see me as I am being taken from you, it shall be so for you, but if you do not see me, it shall not be so."
And as they still went on and talked, behold, chariots of fire and horses of fire separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it and he cried, "My father, my father! The chariots of Israel and its horse men!" And he saw him no more.
Then he took hold of his own clothes and tore them in two pieces. And he took up the cloak of Elijah that had fallen from him and went back and stood on the bank of the Jordan. Then he took the cloak of Elijah that had fallen from him and struck the water, saying, "Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah?" And when he had struck the water, the water was parted to the one side and to the other, and Elisha went over.
-2 Kings 2:1-14 ESV
While in prayer over this passage, the Lord ministered a now word to me for His Bride.
He said, "I am waiting for the generation of Elishas to arise and ask, "WHERE IS THE LORD, THE GOD OF ELIJAH? WHERE IS THE LORD, THE GOD OF MOSES? WHERE IS THE LORD THE GOD OF PETER? WHERE IS THE LORD, THE GOD OF SMITH WIGGLESWORTH? WHERE IS THE LORD, THE GOD OF KATHRYN KUHLMAN?"
Elisha asked for a double portion, and he received it.
It stood out to me that immediately he went and used what he had received. He struck the water, and he cried out to the Lord in EXPECTATION of the Lord to move on his behalf because he believed he had received what he asked for!
There are mantles falling, Beloved. I see many cloaks falling to the ground in the lives of His remnant. I believe He is waiting for His Bride to pick them up and USE them!
The cloak of Elijah represented the mantle, the calling on his life, and it passed to Elisha. I see a remnant rising with the anointings of those past on their lives, but in a double portion. The secret is, you have to pick it up, and then you have to act on it. You must strike the water.
The Lord God Almighty is longing for this generation to ARISE and ACT.
He has chosen to work through His Bride in the earth, but a Bride who refuses to move won't accomplish anything. A Bride who refuses to strike the water in expectation will never receive the anointing He is pouring out. A Bride who refuses to pick up the sickle will never harvest the fields.
The fields are ripe for the harvest. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
(Luke 10:2)
It is time now, Beloved, to arise in the faith and expectation of the Lord, the God of Elisha, and see what He will do. Go strike the water and place a demand on what He has promised you! Strike the water and demonstrate the power of the Holy Spirit! Strike the water and receive the authority He has given you!
When a generation of water strikers arises, it will usher in the Glory of the Lord on a level never seen before. This isn't just for a few, but many! When you strike the water, you will pass through and go over to the other side.
STRIKE THE WATER!
